Clinics and Services
Antenatal Clinic
We host antenatal clinics run by midwives from Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care - Use this service to refer yourself to NHS maternity services so you can start your pregnancy care with a midwife.
Anti-Coagulation Clinic
Our in-house Warfarin clinic is led by Dr Heyman.
Patients on Warfarin are seen regularly by trained nurses and healthcare assistants.
Baby Clinic
Mothers and new babies will be offered an appointment with a GP together at 8 weeks after birth. This is part of routine child health checks and also an opportunity to get advice on matters such as breastfeeding and contraception, and for the baby to be weighed and to start immunisations with the Practice Nurse.

Cervical Screening (Smear Test)
We offer cervical screening (smear tests) to all women aged between 25 and 64.
If you are due your smear test, please request an appointment online, choosing the option I have an admin or routine care request.

Diabetic Clinic
Patients with diabetes are invited for a yearly review. We have a visiting Diabetes Specialist Nurse and Diabetes Dietician from the Homerton Diabetes Centre
Family Planning
Available to all patients by appointment with our Family Planning/Women’s Health Specialist Nurse. Family Planning can also be discussed in any appointment. Family Planning can also be discussed in any appointment with a GP or Physician Associate.

Substance Misuse Clinic
Patients with drug problems are seen in partnership with Turning Point (Hackney Recovery Service).
Social Prescribing
Individuals will be offered an appointment with a Wellbeing Coordinator who will conduct an in-depth needs assessment and then facilitate active participation in local community-based services, e.g. gardening groups, benefits advice, exercise groups, walking groups, volunteering, befriending and online services.
Eligibility criteria
- Socially isolated and lonely
- Frequent attenders to GP/A+E
- Presenting with a social problem
- Mild-moderate mental health problems
- Keen to participate in non-clinical activities but not aware of what’s happening locally
Exclusions
- A threat to themselves or others
- In a crisis situation
- Already has a care plan in action from another organisation
- Any uncontrolled mental health issues or addictions
- Unsuitable for group-related activities
Patients can be booked by a GP or anyone else at the surgery.

Hearing Aid Repair Clinics
Visit a free drop-in session, and our friendly volunteer can help with:
- Tube replacement, cleaning and general maintenance
- Information on managing hearing aids
- Replacement batteries

Physiotherapy
Bone, joint or muscle pain? Ask to see a First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) at The Well Street Surgery
Appointments are released every day, a week in advance. First Contact Physiotherapists (FCP) are specialists in assessing musculoskeletal conditions.
The First Contact Physiotherapists (FCP) will:
- Assess you and diagnose what’s happening
- Give expert advice on how to best manage your condition
- Refer you to specialist services, rehabilitative physiotherapy or imaging if necessary
- Recommend exercises and other approaches to deal with the issue
A national evaluation of First Contact Practitioner showed: Faster access to expert advice, and Excellent patient feedback.
