For information! Update on telephone access issues
Following-on from our recent announcement regarding our telephone issues, we are pleased to announce that our auto-attendant is now back online. This means that any patient calling in will now hear our automated greeting message and be able to select from a range of options as usual. We thank you bearing with us during the disruption.
New! We are trialling a new GP access system
As part of our efforts to improve our appointment system, we are trialling a new GP access system. This means that we will no longer have ‘urgent on the day’ appointments, rather, urgent medical queries will be addressed by our duty team on the day by telephone triage. This means that you no longer need to call promptly at 8.30am and 2pm to access our on the day service (which is when our lines are typically busiest!).
All patients will be triaged by reception, who will ask you for information regarding the nature of your call. Non-disclosure of the reason for your request may result in your call not being responded to in a timely manner, as calls are responded to in order of clinical urgency. Please note that our phone lines may be busier than usual as triaging calls may take a little longer.
Please remember reception may also be able to book you in for an appointment at our extended access hubs around Hackney (evenings & weekends).
We would welcome your feedback on the system by inviting you to add to our 'love and nuts' board (see below), which is situated at the back of reception on the ground floor.
New! Love and Nuts - an opportunity to feed back to us
We recognise that your feedback is essential to our development as a practice; to ensure that we are delivering the best service that we can to you at all times. In an effort to make it easier to feedback to us, we would like to introduce our new 'Love and Nuts' board, which is a board displayed at the back of reception on the ground floor where you can put your comments on what it is you love about Well Street Surgery, and what drives you nuts!
These comments are regularly reviewed by the practice and used as a guide to improve our services.
Extended Access Appointments
A new scheme has recently launched in City & Hackney allowing us to book GP appointments at other surgeries, when you are unable to find a suitable appointment at this surgery. See our appointments page for more information.
Need a blood test but unable to find an appointment with us to suit your needs? You can now go to other surgeries in Hackney to have your blood test done, as long as you take your test request form with you. See our appointments page for more information.

CQC Inspection - January 2016
Well Street Surgery were visited by the CQC Team in January 2016 and achieved an overall rating of good with outstanding features; there were no recommendations for improvement.
