Medical students

Medical students and nursing students come to the practice from time to time to sit in on consultations and see people at home. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help them to learn about illnesses they would not see in hospital and the real issues about how you cope with chronic problems. Students say seeing people in the community helps them ground the theory they learn in medical school and keeps them in touch with the real world.

You will always be informed in advance when students will be present in a consultation, and if you wish they will be asked to leave. Of course students would always seek your permission before visiting you at home and would bring identification.

If you do not wish to be seen by students you must tell and this will not affect your treatment in any way.
